Student Learning Objectives
Overall Learning Goal: Develop critical thinking, research and evaluation skills to analyze, critique and discuss international news media practices, formats and platforms across a range of topics and content producers from different countries. Special attention to press freedoms worldwide, journalists' rights and protections, press censorship, attacks on the press, news media ownership, and relevant theories and concepts that explain the role of news and impact of news coverage on audiences, from local to global, in the changing technological and participatory digital society.
